The "March Madness" of NCAA basketball is upon us. There have also been definite signs that Spring is finally here. It is the season for new beginnings and fresh starts. Now is the time for us to be inspired and bring great energy to our real estate careers. It's our time to shine. I hope everyone has a great start to a great year.
Last month we suffered the tragic loss of one of our colleagues, Ann Nelson. This shocking incident has affected our industry, her family, her friends and her community. Ann belonged to the Jefferson County Board of Realtors®. We have been in touch with the Jefferson leadership to extend our sympathies. At the time of this publication's deadline date, the Jefferson County Board had not yet decided how they plan to honor Ann's memory. Please watch next month's newsletter for further information. Meanwhile, I ask you to remember the basic safety tips to ensure your safety while working. Please see the article on page 7 of this month's newsletter about agent safety.
Did you attend the Blitz on March 13th? If you did, you are aware how Jerry Rossi's general sessions were not only up to date but inspiring. He encouraged those of us not on our game to "Stop It" and move on. It sounds simplistic, but we are the ones who control our attitude and our results. We also had our first Managing Broker's Lunch with Jerry Rossi, our featured speaker. It was also well attended and informative. The booths this year provided us not only with great information but also chocolate, water, wings and many other vital items. A big "THANK YOU" to all sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, attendees and especially the Blitz committee, they did a fabulous job! Thanks for your continued support of our Affiliates too.
Recently, John Deininger and I attended "Surround Sound" training. This session was sponsored by NAR and held at WRA. This program taught us how to communicate with consumers about opportunities in the current real estate markets and effective means to communicate that message to the public. John and I will be passing this information onto our Public Relations committee to assist them in getting the word out.
Have a wonderful month and please feel free to contact me at any time.
Sincerely
Paula Schmelzer
