A few years ago, it was discovered that many of our sales were not being reported in a timely fashion. It was a large enough issue that on average we were understating the activity of our market by eleven percent. In a time when our market activity was being closely watched, we were our own worst enemy. It was decided that although we were encouraging our members to report sales as quickly as possible, we would wait until the end of the month to report on the prior month's activity. This solution seemed to work for a while, but we have been under increasing pressure to provide information to the public, and to the National Association, for inclusion in their statistics. Therefore, we have returned to a routine of pulling statistics on the 15th of each month in an attempt to remain competitive in the news media. We encourage all members to take the time to report all sales as soon after closing as possible in an attempt to provide the most accurate picture of our local market.
