All Members are encouraged to become an active part of RASCW through committee involvement. Provided for you is a brief profile of each committee. You are invited to bring your personal talents and interests to these committees.
AFFORDABLE HOUSING EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES
This committee focuses on expanding home ownership for minorities and people with disabilities through scholarship programs, home buyer education, increasing affordable housing opportunities for all people, providing association members with tools such as wheelchair ramps for home showings to clients with disabilities and information on recent fair housing law developments.
BLITZ
The Association's Annual Educational Blitz is a day-long event that features a national speaker and includes several educational workshops and an exhibit hall. Click here for more information.
GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS
Politics is the emphasis of this committee. This group's primary duties include dividing responsibilities to attend key meetings to insure REALTOR® presence, providing input and support to staff on political issues, identifying talent within the Association to deal with specific issues, advising the Board of Directors, developing opinion and educational pieces, and attending candidate interviews.
GREEN
The Green Committee addresses the growing importance of environmental and sustainability issues. Monitoring and ultimately educating our members on products, practices, renovation and new construction techniques will keep our industry on the forefront of these new technologies. As more consumers demand efficiencies in the homes they buy, our members will be better equipped to educate themselves and their clients, bringing more value to the transaction. In addition, the public will view our industry as informed and credible partners in the Green movement.
GUSTO
GUSTO stands for Getting United in Service To Others. The objective of this committee is to promote positive visibility of RASCW members through community involvement and service to support local housing needs. This group is currently planning an event for May 3, 2008 to raise funds for the Keep Wisconsin Warm Fund.
HOME RUN
This committee plans the Annual Home Run. Proceeds from this event go to the REALTORS® Association of South Central Wisconsin Housing Foundation in support of its efforts to provide down payment and closing cost assistance to qualified home buyers. MEMBERSHIP NETWORKING
This committee is responsible for recruiting and retaining members, both REALTORS® and Affiliates. It is also responsible for planning and holding membership meetings, events and other networking opportunities for the membership.
ORIENTATION
This committee designs and reviews the New Member Orientation, which provides new members with information pertaining to the Association and the real estate industry while catering to their personal needs. Members participating on this committee play a dual role in being both a committee member as well as an orientation instructor. Participation on this committee is by appointment.
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
Our Professional Standards process provides a means for members and the public they serve to resolve disputes that arise out of real estate transactions. Committee members serve on Review Panels, Hearing Panels and as Mediators. Attendance at an annual training session is required. Participation on this committee is by appointment and open to REALTOR® Members only.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
The objective of this committee is to promote positive visibility of the REALTORS® Association of South Central Wisconsin through committee and community involvement and interaction. The responsibilities of the committee may involve coordinating press releases, letters to the editor, website articles, community awareness and education, public speaking, media interaction, and newsletter articles.
