How long have you been working in the real estate industry?
4 years

How did you get into real estate?
I started in real estate part-time in September 2019 and did that in my spare time until one year ago when I *finally* took the leap and went full-time. Before I was in real estate, I tried many things. From car sales, to banking, to ad sales for our local newspaper, then consumer lending (and a few things in between), before going full-time in real estate. Along the way, I received my Associates in Business Management from Southwest Tech.

What was one of your greatest challenges starting out?
Believing in myself that I would succeed in real estate. I overcame it by surrounding myself with like-minded entrepreneurs that cheered me on and listened to me when I needed someone.

What support or advice did you find most helpful when starting out in the industry?
My broker and team were the best support system I’ve had. They were there to help me out (and still do) if I am unavailable for a showing or if I need help with a deal.

What do you enjoy most about working in real estate?
Meeting people in the area. Clients have become friends and friends have become clients, and I’ve made connections that I never would have thought possible. Also, the flexibility that real estate gives in my life. I’m able to travel and spend time on experiences that matter to me.

What is your proudest achievement or favorite memory in real estate?
My proudest moment was the day I officially went full-time. For me, it meant my hard work was paying off and my clients trusted me to refer their friends and family to me.

What advice would you give to someone new to the industry, or someone considering real estate?
Join a team that you can rely on and trust. I would never have been able to succeed the way I have without my amazing team and Brokers.

How has being a member of RASCW benefited you?
I’ve been able to network with local Realtors® which has helped when it comes to deals, and I also joined the RASCW Southwest Chapter Committee. I love planning events and networking with other Realtors®. We can learn so much from each other!

How are you involved and making a difference in your community?
I am on the Grant County Humane Society board as the Treasurer. I also like to host coffee breaks every so often at local cafes to give back to our communities and meet more of our community members.

If you could have lunch with anyone in the world, alive or not, who would it be?
Jamie Kern Lima

Outside of work, what makes you happy?
Travel and new experiences. I love our small communities but there is so much to see and explore in this world. Traveling gives me a new take on life every time.
